Divinely Created for Purpose

President, Dr. Charles E. & 1st Lady Betty Graham
Central Christian University of South Carolina
“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made marvelous are thy works and that my soul knows right well.” Psalm 139:13
“I am so glad that I took Created in God’s Image- A Course in Human Behavior: A Christian Perspective by Richard & Phyllis Arno, Ph.D. I saw myself and realized that all the conflicts I encounter may not be of someone else; that I might be the problem.” Susan Benn- student CCU of SC.
In Psalm 139:14, David’s expressions acknowledge the omnipotence of God, Creator, and His mighty works. David’s gratitude reverently resounded through his praise of God’s majestic works. Through Susan Benn’s a student at Central Christian University of South Carolina, joy and acknowledgement of the knowledge and the wisdom she has gained from taking her first class from the Arno Profile System towards continuing her studies in Christian Counseling, she, too, gives praise to Our Father God.
Founded in 1978 in Mims, Florida, as the Bible Institute and Counseling Center as part of the C.E. Graham Bible College/ Seminary, operating as an extension of Faith Evangelistic Schools in 1986, Central Christian University of South Carolina moved to Columbia, South Carolina.
In May 1993, CCU of SC received full accreditation with the American Federation of Christian Colleges and Schools. It became a member of the National Christian Counselors Association (NCCA) and the Arno Profile System.
October 1994, our students, by God’s grace, continue to discover their spiritual selves and better appreciate the gifts and opportunities God has placed in their lives. The courses from the Arno Profiles and NCCA are enlightening, encouraging, and spiritually motivating, as the quotations above exemplify our declarations.
In October 1994, exempt status was granted clearance using degree titles such as Associate Bachelor, Master, Doctor of Theology, Bible Study, and Christian Counseling. The Undergraduate, Certificates, and Diplomas are offered.
On June 10, 2001, the school made another amendment to its bylaws to change its operational name to the C. E. Graham Bible Schools, Inc., because of the attraction of a wide variety of denominational backgrounds. In January 2007, the School was chartered as Central Christian University of South Carolina, Inc.
To date, Central Christian University of SC, Inc. is independent, liberal, and local church-oriented, meeting a neglected need in the field of Christian Education, Counseling, and Ministry. The University is missionary, both in belief and practice. Central Christian University of South Carolina, Inc. was accredited by Transworld Accreditation until 2013. As the University has continued to prosper, Dr. Graham and the Board of Directors decided to increase the prestige and the appeal of the University by applying for accreditation with The Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE).
Currently, Central Christian University of South Carolina holds “Candidate Status” (2023) with the Association for Biblical Higher Education Commission on Accreditation
Also, in 2023, the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) recognized CCU of SC as a member to receive national information.
Consequently, the brief history and connection with NCCA and the Arno Profile System have proven to be divinely cogitative.
The two completely different quotations above, spoken by two different generations, miles away from each other as far as “time” and “space,” and as we with human minds can recognize, appear to exclaim something dissimilar, but the actions and results are very similar.
To encourage our students at CCU of SC, every student is required to successfully complete Created in God’s Image as a first course in their journeys with the University. No student has expressed disappointment, and all have been excited to take the next step with Creation Therapy towards completing and earning his/ her degree.
When students studying Christian Counseling complete their programs of Bible/ Theology, professional education, and programs of the National Christian Counselors Association at CCU of SC, they are equipped to serve God in their respective “Calling,” become good stewards with more than adequate capacity of knowledge and wisdom acquired, and they are equipped to live daily victorious lives. “And God Is Glorified.
