JESUS, THE PERFECT COUNSELOR!

It seems we live in a generation void of any real mission in life. There is no greater feeling of hopelessness than when we seem to be drifting aimlessly, without a firm reason for living. God understands this need man has for a purpose, and that is why He created us with an express need to feel fulfilled.  Maryland Christian Counseling Ministry Institute is a Certified Academic Institute. The stated purpose of the MCCMI is for the building up those who are hurting and broken.

As Christian counseling we know that God gave us Jesus as the perfect example of a man who lived His life to fulfill His mission. What we can learn from his life is that no matter where we are in life, we must never forget our purpose for being here. No matter how busy we get with the urgencies of life, we must never lose sight of our inner need to accomplish what God has sent us here to do which is to help the afflicted and wounded.

Jesus wasn’t concerned with social structure or political correctness. He was concerned with fulfilling His purpose in life to rescue the hopeless! What is your purpose in life? Are you all in for helping people through marriage issues, family crisis, general counseling, grief, anxiety? Be honest with yourself! Can people see the mission of serving others with compassion and sympathy for the hurting? Are you a true reflection of Jesus and His purpose on earth as a Christian counsel?

Jesus was so focused on His mission in life that He would not let the urgent things of life deter Him from accomplishing His goal. His reputation had become known in the village to the point they saw him as “The Healer”and he would not be held back. He knew He had to go to other towns and villages to help them also. Are there times in your life when you let the urgent keep you from accomplishing the important? Christian counseling and coaching should be a fire burning purpose and calling for God.

We must become strong active Christians seeking to better equip ourselves for the success of future Christian counseling services. One who is inactive because of his lack of knowledge and confidence in his ability to use counseling affectively will not succeed.  Any approach to in-depth Biblical Christian Counseling study must meet the needs of both these circumstances. On the other hand, no approach will be, or is expected to be, successful among those who have no desire to improve their knowledge, ability, or are completely indifferent to their growth and involvement.

Don’t misunderstand me, I know and am sure that we can’t do anything without Christ, That’s why we all believe in Christian counseling because it’s not about our abilities but only our availability. Jesus understood that in order to have a strong, vibrant relationship with God He needed to be totally dependent on Him.   So, He looked to His Father for the strength He needed to fulfill the mission God gave Him. No one can argue with the results of Jesus dependence on God because it resulted in our deliverance. The lesson we need to learn is that we must depend on God totally if we are to fulfill His will for our life. Independence only leads to failure!
