Rev. Steve and Erin Baran are the current owners of the Sarasota Academy of Christian Counseling. Rev. Steve and Erin Baran have been consulting and directing efforts on behalf of the SACC since 2002. Over that time, The Barans have piloted several programs that resulted in the growth and development of where the SACC is today. Erin Baran is a native of Pittsburgh, PA. She is trained as a medical assistant and worked in that until arriving in Sarasota, FL. Erin is currently the director of daily operations of the SACC. She earned her Bachelors degree in Christian Education from Calvary Theological Seminary. Rev. Baran brings his extensive life experience to the SACC. He served for three years as Captain of the Westland Police Explorers, a volunteer group dedicated to the improvement of community relationships between citizens and law enforcement. Rev. Baran also served as Union Steward for Local 25 Teamsters, Detroit, MI. Additionally his management experience in retail sales, outside sales, insurance planning (licensed in Florida and Michigan) have brought new avenues to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the secular work force as well as with Christian Schools and businesses that desire to be more effective in communicating with employees and their consumers.
Rev. Dr. Robert J. Duncan, Jr.,
Rob is a Retired Elder in the Greater New Jersey Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.
He holds a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry from Drew University. Rob was the first graduate of the Global Online Doctor of Ministry Program and was one of Len Sweet's Dean's Fellow's in this program. He also received the Director's award for his work in the D.Min. Program. An annual Prize is awarded in Rob's name for the most innovative use of technology in the DMin project.
Rob is currently serving as a Core Faculty in the Doctor of Ministry Program at Drew University.
He served as the President & Professor of Religion at Bacone College, affiliated with the ABC-USA from 2002-2013.
Dr. Duncan’s ministry experiences have included local parish ministry, non-profit management, pastoral counseling, planned giving, and development.
Rob has been a member of the National Christian Counselors Association since 1988 and received the 2009 Temperament Award from the NCCA.
The Sarasota Academy of Christian Counseling has recently appointed Dr. Duncan as the Executive Director of Christian Life Coaching.
Convinced that the Internet is bringing about a new reformation by fulfilling the role of the printing press in the information age, his long-term interest in technology has led him to the bleeding edge of integrating technology and ministry.
